Our take
The iSteady X3 SE is the budget alternative to DJI. It offers 3-axis stabilization, a magnetic AI tracker that follows you without touching your phone, and a detachable remote to start and stop recording from up to 10 meters away.
Its battery is the longest in our comparison — 11 hours according to the manufacturer — and it holds phones up to 300 g. The tripod isn't built in, but it's included in the box. The Hohem Joy app adds gesture control and creative templates.
Compared with DJI it loses on build quality, tracking smoothness and ecosystem (it can't receive audio from wireless mics), but for the price it's a great entry point.
Pros
- 11 h of battery
- AI tracker included
- Detachable remote
- Low price
Cons
- Separate tripod, not built in
- Tracking less refined than DJI's
- Fewer ecosystem accessories than DJI
